How Shoe Tongue Pads corrected and changed my shoe fitting forever
It is a known fact that about 60% of all people have different size paired feet and it appears, as I found out, that I am of no execption so I am a perfect example of needing to use shoe tongue pads. For years, I thought that I was just ‘unlucky’ in being able to buy or just find shoes that fit me good. Every pair of shoes I bought, either the left shoe was slightly too tight, or on the right foot, the heel would slip. And yes, at times, I developed a callus and or ‘corn’ here and there.

Sounds familiar? Well, if you wear ill-fitted footwear or just simply the wrong size shoe, this happens. According to The Journal of Foot and Ankle Research, 63 – 70% of all people wear the wrong size shoes. So how do we correct this problem? Part of the answer is to get your feet, each foot properly measured, separately. The other part of the answer is to use Tongue Pads.

How to get your proper shoe size? First, go to any reputable shoe store and tell the shoe salesman that you would like to get your feet (not foot) measured. The salesperson should have you stand on what’s called a Brannick Device to get measured.

Pay close attention to the the salesman’s finding on each foot. You may find that like me, you have different size feet. My left foot is an 11 1/2 length and D width measurement from heel to toe, but my arch length on my left foot is a 12 from the heel to the ball of the foot. My right foot is an 11 and D width in measurement from heel to toe, but my arch length is about 12 to 12 1/2 from the heel to the ball of the foot. It was only when I started selling shoes professionally, that I learned about Tongue Pads.
A Tongue Pad is a rather small device that’s shaped like a ‘tongue’, hence the name. It has soft material on one side and an adhesive on the other. You stick the adhesive side on the inside of the shoe tongue of your shoe.

Amazingly, you will find that it’s basic function is to keep the foot secure, in one place, in the shoe by throwing the heel to the back of the shoe on the smaller foot allowing it to fit like the larger foot. There are different sizes in tongue pads that you can use for boots, shoes, sneakers, even slides (a type of sandal). It all depends on your needs. I have one in each of my many pairs of shoes’ left foot, so all and I do mean ALL of my footwear fit like a charm. Click Here to see just what type of boots I’m talking about.

Now some people will say; “Well, I have a skinny heel, that bites me when I put on certain shoes. What do I do then? Well, here’s what you do: Since you’ve been properly measured and you have the proper size, (remember, the proper size in a lace-up shoe is always to measure both feet and fit for the larger foot. You can always adjust for the smaller foot) take the top of the heel that’s ‘biting’ and bend it back and forth until it starts to get soft. And it will soften. This old shoe technique is called ‘worrying the heel’ and it works like a charm.
Also you can get rubber or spongy-type heel pads to use in the heel cup of the shoe. It has been said that the 2 most neglected parts of the body are your feet and your teeth.
